CHITTAGONG: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested three lawyers, including daughter of BNP leader Syed Wahidul Alam, for alleged financing to militant organization ‘Shahid Hamja Brigade’.

The arrestees are Barrister Shakila Farzana, Advocate Liton and Advocate Bapan.

They were picked up from capital’s Dhanmondi area around 9pm Tuesday.

RAB Chittagong zone director lieutenant colonel Miftah Uddin Ahmed told banglanews that they have evidence about the trio as they provide financial assistance to ‘Shahid Hamja Brigade’.

They were arrested as per evidences, he added.

Barrister Shakila Farzana is the joint general secretary of Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Lawyers Forum.
