PATUAKHALI: A gang of miscreants chopped a BNP leader of Keshabpur Union unit in Bauphal Upazila of the district to dead Wednesday night.
The deceased was identified as Shamim Hossain, joint convener of Keshabpur Union unit BNP.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bauphal Police Station Masuduzzaman told banglanews miscreants chopped Shamim indiscriminately on a bridge near Choumuhani Bazar area around 9:00pm.
On information, police rushed to the spot and took the injured to Bauphal Hospital where on-futy doctor declared him dead on arrival, he added.
