BARISAL: Habibur Rahman Khan (60), chairman of Dudhal Union Parishad of Bakerganj upazila of Barisal district, electrocuted on Thursday.

On-duty doctor of Sher-e-Bangla Medical College and Hospital declared him dead this morning.

Dudhal Union Parishad secretary Mohammad Yunus Khan told banglanews that the deceased was going by a gher near his house and suddenly came contact with a live wire.

After rescuing him, locals rushed to the hospital where he was declared dead, Yunus added.

Moreover, Habibur Rahman was also Bakerganj upazila unit ruling Awami League vice-president.

He retired from KSU High School as its headmaster.
