DHAKA: BNP demanded the resignation of information minister and also Jatiyo Samajtantrik Dal (JASOD) president Hasanul Haq Inu.

BNP spokesperson Dr Asaduzzaman Ripon made the demand at a press conference held at the party’s central office in city’s Naya Paltan area on Monday.

He said that JASOD was responsible for creating anarchy in the country from 1972 to 1975.

‘Inu was one of the JASOD leaders during that time,’ Ripon said, ‘the minister should inform the nation about the incidents of that period’.

Moreover, the minister should resign from the post accepting the responsibilities of the anarchy, the BNP spokesperson added.

He further said that it is very unfortunate that people, who did not take part in the democracy system, are now teaching the nation about it.
