JESSORE:  Police arrested 99 accused, including 25 leaders-activists of BNP and its key ally Jamaat-e-Islami, for their alleged involvement in different cases.

The drives were conducted between Tuesday night and Wednesday dawn at different places of eight upazila of Jessore district.

Jessore district police control room sources said of the arrestees, 24 were leaders-activists of BNP and one of Jamaat-e-Islami.

All would be sent to court on Wednesday noon, the sources added.
