DHAKA: Qulkhani and a special prayer for recently demised former premier and also Jatiya Party (Zafar) chairman Kazi Zafar was held at Azad Masjid in city’s Gulshan area Wednesday afternoon.

Leaders and activists of several political parties and the deceased’s family members and relatives attended the program.

Among the attendees, BNP leaders Lieutenant General (retd) Mahbubur Rahman, Dr Inam Ahmed Chowdhury, Abdullah Al Noman, Shah Moazzem Hossain and Nitai Roy Chowdhury and Kalyan Party chairman Lieutenant General (retd) Syed Muhammad Ibrahim, Jatiya Party (Ershad) presidium member Abdul Mannan, Islami Oikya Jote chairman Abdul Latif Nezami, Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) joint secretary Sahadat Hossain Selim and Bangladesh Communist Party politburo member Haider Akbar Khan Rono were present at the qulkhani.

Moreover, Kazi Zafar’s party leaders Atiqur Rahman, Nawab Ali Abbas Khan, Ahsan Habib Lincoln, Mawlana Ruhul Amin and Advocate Shafiuddin also participated the event.
