2 ex-Jamaat MPs, 11 others remanded

DHAKA: A court here granted 3-day remand for two former lawmakers of Jamaat-e-Islami and 11 other leaders and activists of the party, who were nabbed from Mirpur-11.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Lutfar Rahman passed the order on Tuesday when police produced them before the court with 10-day remand plea.

Earlier on September 7, police arrested them from a house in Mirpur-11 with 20 homemade bombs.

Among the detainees, former MP of Rajshahi-1 Jamaat Nayeb-e-Ameer Professor Mujibur Rahman is accused in 45 cases while former MP of Khulna-5 Jamaat Assistant Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar is accused in 12.
