DHAKA: Opposition chief whip and also commerce ministry standing committee chairman Tajul Islam Chowdhury fell sick. He is now admitted at BIRDEM hospital in city on Tuesday.

The Jatiya Party (JP) lawmaker fell sick on Monday evening while distributing relief to the flood victims in his constituency in sadar upazila of Kurigram district.

Later, he was rushed to Dhaka and got admitted to BIRDEM hospital under medicine specialist Dr Delwar.

According to the physician, the lawmaker has been suffering from pneumonia.

Tajul’s family members requested the nation to pray for the lawmaker’s immediate recovery.
