DHAKA: Police detained 41 activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir, the student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami, from a ‘secret’ meeting at a hotel in capital’s Farmgate area on Friday evening.

Tejgaon zone deputy commissioner of police Biplob Kumar Sarker confirmed the matter to banglanews.

He said being tipped off, a team of Tejgaon Thana police raided first floor of Hotel Givenci around 5:45am and caught 41 Shibir men.

Police primarily suspected that they were gathering there to fix a plan to create sabotage. The detainees are being interrogated, the police officer added.
