BRAHMANBARIA: A local leader of ruling Awami League (AL) electrocuted at Kalisima village under sadar upazila of Brahmanbaria district on Saturday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Babul Miah, 40, general secretary of ward no 6 AL unit of the area.

Sadar Thana sub-inspector (SI) Abul Kashem told banglanews that Babul came in contact with a live electric wire around 1:00pm while repairing the power supply line of his house.

Later, family members took the AL leader to District Sadar Hospital where the attending doctors declared him dead.
