The Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested four Awami League (AL) members, including Mohila AL’s organising secretary, from different areas of the capital on Tuesday.

The arrestees are Ismat Ara Happy, 40, organising secretary of Mohila AL; Azim Md Mahbub Alam, 53, president of 33 no ward Jubo League; Md Saiful Islam Sagor, 32, former joint general secretary of Kotwali Thana Chhatra League; and Tanzim Rahman Akash Dewan, 32, assistant general secretary of Mohammadpur Thana Chhatra League.

According to DB, the arrests were made from Dhanmondi, Kotwali, Islampur, and Basila areas. 

Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Telbur Rahman confirmed the individuals face multiple cases with specific charges and were allegedly involved in flash processions aimed at destabilising the capital.
