BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has urged party leaders and activists to remain united at any cost. He said that if the party can maintain rock-solid unity until February, the people’s mandate will favor the party’s electoral symbol, the sheaf of paddy.

Tarique Rahman made the remarks virtually on Saturday (Sep 20) during the Kishoreganj district BNP conference.

He warned that although the country is not under direct autocracy, an “invisible force” is gradually gaining influence. In this context, he called on party members to work more cohesively to uphold citizens’ rights and ensure the continuity of the nation’s development.

“Now is not the time to remain idle. To restore the people’s rights, everyone must actively participate in the field,” he said.

Advising caution to party members, Tarique Rahman said that no one should use the party’s name for personal gain or create confusion among the people.

On political reform, he said that BNP proposed reforms nearly two and a half years ago, even before the caretaker government period. “We are in favor of change, but it must happen through a legitimate government established by the people’s mandate,” he said.

He also said, “Our goal is clear—restore the rights of the people, reclaim democracy, and ensure the country’s development. There is no time to waste in achieving this mission.”
