CHITTAGONG: Police held 16 in suspicion of activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir, student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami, conducting derives in Chittagong Government College’s Sher-e-Bangla Hostel and its adjacent areas in port city Chittagong on Sunday afternoon.

Police conducted the drives, led by metropolitan Detective Branch (DB) of police additional deputy-commissioner (West) SM Tanvir Arafat and additional deputy-commissioner (North) Babul Akhtar, on information of gathering of Shibir men around 5:00pm.

Metropolitan DB police assistant commissioner (North) Mohammad Qamruzzaman confirmed the matter to banglanews.
