GOPALGANJ: Local unit leaders and activists of ruling Awami League (AL) celebrated their party chief’s birthday by cutting a 69-foot cake weighing 240-pound in Tungipara upazila of Gopalganj district on Monday.

It was cut on the premises of the mausoleum of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Tungipara.

Leaders and activists of the upazila unit AL and its front organizations attended the program, followed by a discussion.

However, the 69th birthday of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, also AL president, is being celebrated on the day.
