DHAKA: BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir got bail in a defamation case filed by ruling Awami League’s (AL) front organization Awami Matsyajibi League vice-president Nur-e-Alam Siddiqui.
Metropolitan magistrate Yunus Khan passed the order on Tuesday following the surrender of the BNP leader before the CMM court and a plea for bail.
The case was filed with the DHAKA CMM Court on September 1 of 2014 as Fakhrul termed the ruling Awami League a “killer party” and its president Sheikh Hasina a “killer” at a press conference in BNP Nayapaltan headquarters on August 24.
