HABIGANJ: Police detained 16 people, including six leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student front Chhatra Shibir from different places of the district.

During the overnight drive, five cocktails, huge Jihadi books and anti-government leaflets have been seized from their possession.

 Of the detainees, some were identified as Nabiganj upazila vice chairman and also upazila Jamaat Amir Ashraf Ali, 40, Lakhai upazila Jamaat secretary Nurul Amin, 42, Shayestaganj Thana Jamaat secretary Yeasin Khan, 32, Shayestaganj Thana Shibir president Hossain Ahmad, 22, secretary Nizam Uddin, 18, Bahubal upazila Shibir activist Jahirul Haque Kayes, 27.

Besides, police detained 10 people on suspicion of Jamaat-Shibir men during the drive, led-by additional police super Shahidul Islam.
