CHITTAGONG: Police detained Jamaat-e-Islami Sitakunda Upazila unit ameer Shafiqul Mawla from his residence in Sitakunda upazila of Cox’s Bazar district on Wednesday noon.

Chittagong district additional police super (Special Branch) Muhammad Naimul Hasan confirmed the matter to banglanews.

He said that the detainee was accused in 40 sabotage cases.

According to the police boss, the Jamaat leader was involved in creating violence in different times on Dhaka-Chittagong highway.
