CHITTAGONG: A Chittagong court on Wednesday placed four members of banned extremist outfit Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) on 15 days remand in three cases.
Chittagong metropolitan magistrate Abdul Quader placed them on remand when the investigation officer produced them before the court with 10-day remand plea of each in each case.
The accused are JMB (Chittagong region) second-in-command Bulbul Ahmed alias Fuad, and activists Sujon alias Babu, Mahbub and Shahjahan Kajol.
Additional deputy commissioner (prosecution) of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) Qazi Muttaqi Ibnu Mizan confirmed the matter to banglanews.
On October 5, police detained five JMB men including its army wing chief Javed from Karnaphuli Thana area in port city.
Police also seized eight hand grenades and huge amount of explosives.
On the next day, Javed was killed in a grenade blast when he went with police in another drive.
On October 6, Sub-Inspector Altaf Hossain filed three cases with Karnaphuli Thana in this regard.
