DHAKA: Family members of condemned war criminal Jamaat leader Al Ahsan Mohammad Mujahid will meet him at Dhaka Central Jail on Friday.
Five-member team including Mujahid’s younger son Ali Ahmed Mabrur will go to the prison around 11:00am to meet him, said Mujahid’s lawyers panel member Shishir Munir.
Earlier, a five-member lawyers’ panel met Mujahid at the Dhaka Central Jail on October 3 when he asked them to file a petition to review the Appellate Division verdict that upheld his death sentence for war crimes.
On October 1, International Crimes Tribunal issued death warrant against the convicted war criminal Jamaat-e-Islami leader Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mujahid.
Earlier on September 30, the Supreme Court (SC) released full appeal-verdicts upholding death penalty to Mujahid for wartime crimes.
However, the convict can seek review of the apex court verdict within the next 15 days.
On July 17 in 2013, ICT-2 found the Jamaat secretary general Mujahid guilty of five out of seven charges brought against him.
The tribunal sentenced him to death on three charges.
