DHAKA: International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) on Wednesday permitted the prosecution to interrogate Jatiya Party (JP) lawmaker from Mymensingh-7 constituency (Trishal) MA Hannan and three others at its safe home.
Three other arrestees are Hannan’s son Rafique Sajjad, Dr Khandaker Golam Sabbir and Mizanur Rahman Mintu.
Three-member ICT led by chairman Justice Mohammad Anwarul Haque granted the petition seeking permission for further interrogation filed by prosecutor Sultan Mahmud Simon.
Of the five arrestees, Harmuj Ali is undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in city after suffering from injuries in an accident.
On October 1, Banani Thana police detained MA Hannan along with his son Rafique Sajjad from their residence in Gulshan in a case filed for crimes against humanity during country’s liberation war in 1971.
Earlier, ICT issued arrest warrant against eight war crimes accused.
On May 19, Rahima Khatun, wife of martyred freedom fighter Commander Abdur Rahim, filed a case against the three.
