SYLHET: A district court on Monday deferred the hearing of a case filed over the murder of blogger Ananta Bijoy Das.

Sylhet Metropolitan Magistrate Court-2 judge SM Anwarul Haque fixed November 4 as the new date as the case documents did not reach here in time.

On October 4, the hearing was also deferred on the same ground.

Court’s General Record Officer (GRO) Bijoy Chandra Das confirmed the matter to banglanews.

However, a group of miscreants chopped Ananta Bijoy Das to death in front of his residence at Subidbazar area of the town on May 12.

So far, nine people were held. One of them, Mannan Rahi gave confessional statement at the court.
