TANGAIL: Symbols were distributed among the candidates of upcoming by-poll for Tangail-4 (Kalihati) constituency.

Returning Officer Alimuzzaman distributed the symbols among four candidates on Thursday morning.

Ruling Awami League (AL)-backed candidate Hasan Imam Khan Sohel Hazari got party symbol ‘nouka’, Krishak Shramik Janata League (KSJL)-backed candidate Bangabir Abdul Kader Siddique ‘gamchha’, BNF-backed Ataur Rahman ‘television’ and National People’s Party (NPP)-backed Imrul Kayes received ‘mango’.

Supporters of the candidates were present at the event of symbol distribution and hoped a free and fair election.

The Returning Officer said that they took all preparations to make the by-poll a cent percent impartial. He also sought assistance from all in this regard.
