DHAKA: Acting BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Saturday said after taking treatment in London, party chairperson Khaleda Zia will return home before November 7.
The BNP senior leader disclosed the matter in a press briefing at BNP central office in city’s Naya Paltan area.
Earlier in the day, he held a meeting with party leaders here.
Criticising the news items that said Khaleda Zia would not return to attend BNP’s programs on November 7, Mirza Fakhrul said this was a part of conspiracy.
He also slammed the bomb attack at Hussaini Dalan early Saturday and demanded proper investigation of the matter.
The BNP senior leader also urged the journalists not to publish speculative news items.
In the briefing, BNP international affairs secretary Asaduzzaman Ripon declared countrywide 10-day programs, including blood donation, publishing posters and special bulletins, from October 5.
On November 7, party leaders and activists will hoist national flag and party flag at central office at 6:00am. Later, a party delegation, led by Khaleda Zia, will pay floral wreath to ex-president Ziaur Rahman’s grave at 10:00am.
BNP standing committee member Nazrul Islam Khan, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, chairperson’s adviser Shamsuzzaman Dudu, among others, were present in the briefing here.
