DHAKA: Wife of death row war criminal and also Jamaat-e-Islami secretary general Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mujahid sought the President’s consent as the convict considers the later as the country’s constitutional guardian.
Tamanna-e-Jahan made this assertion at a press conference held at the auditorium of Supreme Court Bar Association auditorium on Saturday noon.
She, in her written speech, argued that it will be a breach of human rights as her husband is under trial of anther case in a special tribunal.
‘The President is a lawyer and I hope he will take initiatives as safeguard of the convict’s civic rights,’ Tamanna-e-Jahan added.
However, Mujahid is also one of the accused in 21 August grenade attack case.
Mijahid’s sons Ali Ahmed Mabrur and Ali Ahmed Tahkiq and elder brother Ali Afzal Khaled and younger brother Ali Asgar Aslam and their lawyers Saifur Rahman and SM Kamaluddin, among others, were present at the conference.
