DHAKA: War criminals Salauddin Quader Chowdhury and Ali Ahsan Mujahid filed petitions seeking presidential clemency on their death penalties.

On Saturday morning, two magistrates met Chowdhury and Mujahid at Dhaka Central Jail to know whether they would seek presidential mercy.

Earlier, the jail authorities asked them whether the duo would seek the mercy. Both of them said they would inform their respective decisions later.

On Thursday, the Supreme Court released its full verdicts that dismissed their petitions to review their death sentences awarded by two war crimes tribunals in 2013.
