SYLHET: A court in Sylhet again deferred recording the deposition of witnesses in the former finance minister AMS Kibria murder case.
Sylhet Speedy Trail Tribunal judge Makbul Ahsan on Thursday set December 9 and 10 for next hearing in the case as seven accused out of 12 were not present in the court.
But three witnesses Jasim Uddin, Altaf Hossian, Abdul Khaleque, who sustained injuries in the grenade attack, were present in the court for giving deposition in the case.
Thursday was scheduled date for recording deposition.
Court PP Kishore Kumar Kar told banglanews that five accused, including sack mayor of Habiganj Sadar municipality GK Gaus, were produced before the court.
Earlier, the deposition recording had been deferred for eight times for different reasons, including non-appearance of the accused, he added.
On September 13, a Sylhet court indicted 32 people, including suspended Sylhet City Corporation mayor Ariful Haque, in the case.
Eight of the accused are either on bail while 10 others are absconding.
On January 27, 2005, five people, including Kibria, were killed and scores injured in a grenade attack while addressing a rally in Habiganj.
