JAMALPUR: Liberation War affairs minister Mozammel Haque on Friday said Jamaat-e-Islami would not be allowed to do politics in the soil of Bangladesh.
He was addressing a discussion to mark Kamalpur Free Day in Jamalpur district in the afternoon.
Indicating BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia, the minister said ‘It won’t be allowed to consume food of Bangladesh but applaud Pakistan.’
It is not acceptable that children of freedom fighters attached with politics of BNP, he added.
Regarding list of fake freedom fighters, he said it has been scrutinizing. The problem will be settled soon.
Religious Affairs Minister Principal Motiur Rahman, shipping minister Shahjahan Khan, Jute and Textile state minister Mirza Azam and former information minister Abul Kalam Azad also attended the program as special guest.
Freedom Fighters’ central command council information and research affairs secretary Mahbubul Haque Chisti presided over the discussion.
On this day in 1971, freedom fighters hoisted the flag of independent Bangladesh in Kamalpur by defeating the Pakistan occupation forces.
A total of 162 Pakistani soldiers surrendered to joint force on the day.
