DHAKA: Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh has called nationwide hartal for Wednesday after Supreme Court upheld death penalty to war criminal Mir Quasem Ali.
In a press release, the party made the disclosure on Tuesday demanding release of all of its leaders, detained for war crimes.
Earlier in the day, SC Appellate Division upheld the death penalty of Jamaat-e-Islami leader Mir Quasem Ali for his war crimes committed during the Liberation War of Bangladesh in 1971.
