DHAKA: A city court on Friday remanded six Jamaatul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) members for six days. They were arrested along with explosives from city’s Mirpur area Thursday.
The court of metropolitan magistrate Muhammad Mazharul Islam passed the order in response to a 10-day remand plea by Detective Branch (DB) police sub-inspector (SI) Momin Khan.
Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Branch additional deputy commissioner (ADC) Sanowar Hossain said they filed a case against 11 people including three JMB men – M Abu Sayed alias Rasel alias Salman (22), M Iliyas alias Omar Faruk (23), and Mohsin Ali (20).
Sued three other JMB members are fugitive.
On Thursday, the law enforcers conducted a drive in Mirpur area and arrested seven people along with 18 grenades and huge explosives.
