Juba League leader shot in city

DHAKA: Miscreants shot a leader of Juba League, youth wing of ruling Awami League (AL), in Matikata area under Cantonment Thana of the city.

The injured was identified as Ibrahim Hossain, 28, organizing secretary of ward-15 unit Juba League in the city.

His friend Rony told banglanews that Ibrahim opened the door of their rented flat in Matikata area after hearing the ring of calling bell around 11:00pm of Friday. Immediately after opening the door, a group of people fired bullets on Ibrahim, leaving him injured.

Rony and family members rushed him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) with bullet injury in his waist, said Sentu Chandra Das, Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) of DMCH police outpost.
