GAZIPUR: Police arrested a councilor candidate of Sreepur municipality poll and also Jamaat-e-Islami leader Mobarak Hossain Shyamal on Saturday morning.
He was arrested from Channapara area around 9:30am while conducting a poll campaign.
Sreepur Thana sub-inspector Mujibur Rahman said that the Jamaat-back councilor candidate Shyamal was accused in eight to ten cases, including of creating violence.
