DHAKA: Election Commissioner Mohammad Shah Newaz said that Union Parishad (UP) elections will be held across the country in March.

The party symbols will be used for the Chairman post while the Councilors will vie in non-partisan manner.

Moreover, the elections will be held several phases.

The election commissioner made this disclosure while talking to the media at his office in city on Tuesday (January 12).

‘We will bring amendment in election law and changes in code of conduct to hold the UP election under party banner.’

The Members of Parliament (MPs) will not be able to take part in the poll campaigns, the election commissioner added.
