DHAKA: Road, Transport and Bridges minister Obaidul Quader on Wednesday (April 20) alleged that the conspiracy to kill Prime Minister’s son Sajeeb Wazed Joy was nothing but to destroy Awami League.

He also said, “The accused intended to jeopardize AL politics by killing joy as he is a strong contender to lead the party in the future.”

The minister made the comment while taking to journalists at his secretariat office.

He also said conspirators took recourse to dark alley failing to face Joy politically.

Mentioning the arrest of journalist Shafik Rehman, Quader said law enforcers arrested him on specific ground.

Police got information from FBI and got also evidences searching Shafik Rehman’s residence about his involvement in the conspiracy.

He further said those who are speaking against the arrest of Shafik Rehman cannot avoid their liability in this connection.
