DHAKA: BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia will address the May Day rally, to be organized by the party’s labor wing at Suhrawardi Udyan in city.

BNP senior joint secretary general Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi made the announcement after a preparatory meeting on the May Day program at party central office in city’s Nayapaltan area on Sunday (April 24).

‘We have submitted petition to Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) regarding the rally and taking preparations accordingly.’

He further said that BNP will also take necessary steps so that workers from Narayanganj, Gazipur and Savar can join the rally smoothly.

BNP leaders Mujibur Rahman Sarwar, Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal, Khairul Kabir Khokon, Harun-or-Rashid, Aslam Chowdhury, Ruhul Kuddus Talukdar Dulu and Mahbubul Haque Nannu, among others, were present at the preparatory meeting, chaired by party secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
