DHAKA: A Dhaka court placed five Singapore-back Bangladeshis on 7-day remand each on allegation of their connection with extremists.
Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) additional judge Ali Masud Sheikh pronounced the order on Wednesday (May 4) after holding a hearing in the afternoon.
Earlier on April 29, they were deported by Singapore authorities.
Later on May 3, Singapore home ministry announced the detainment of eight Bangladeshis for plotting subversive attacks on Bangladesh.
The ministry also said that they detained the Bangladeshis in April.
