RANGPUR: Three chargesheeted Jamaat-e-Islami members among 95 people arrested from eight upazilas of the district from early Sunday (May 15) to morning.

Mithapukur Thana officer-in-charge (OC) M Humayan Kabir told banglanews the Jamaat leaders M Rafiqul Islam Ripur, 40, son of late Makbul Hossain of Khordoshantipur village; M Rabiul Islam, 20, son of Mahbubu Islam of Chitli Dakhhin Para and Hannan Miah, 45, son of Abbas Miah of Bujrup Santoshpur village have been arrested in several cases.

Rangpur senior assistant superintendent of police (ASP-B Circle) M Saifur Rahman said the arrestees have warrant against them and they remained abscond for long time.

The arrestees have been sent to Rangpur Jail on Sunday morning (May 15), he added.
