DHAKA: BNP standing committee member Barrister Rafiqul Islam Miah has been admitted to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) in city as he felt ill in Dhaka Central Jail on Thursday morning (May 19).

Chief prison guard of the jail Shafiqul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews this evening adding that the BNP leader was admitted around 2:30pm.

Prior to that, Rafiqul Islam Miah on Monday afternoon (May 16) had been produced before the Dhaka CMM court where he pleaded for bail in seven cases filed with four thanas.

But, the court denied the bail and sent him to the jail.

However, six of cases were filed in 2015 for creating sabotage during the anti-government protest.
