FENI: Police recovered a body of a BNP leader from a watercourse in Hichhachhara area of Chhagalnaiya upazila of the district on Friday (May 27).

The deceased Ekramul Haque Majumder was word BNP leader and member of Municipality BNP unit. He was the son of late Belal Hossain Majumder of Hichhachhara area.

Locals said Ekramul went missing on Thursday (May 26) around 12:30pm and his body was recovered around 7:00am today.

He was working for BNP candidate Abdul Hadi in Chhagalnaiya municipality election on Wednesday.

Officer-in-charge (OC) Rashed Khan Chowdhury of the thana told banglanews that the reason of the death could be known after investigation.

The body did not have any injury marks, the OC added.
