BOGRA: A member of the banned Islamist outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) was killed and two policemen got hurt in a gunfight at Shibganj upazila of the district on Wednesday (June 8).

The deceased was identified as Kawsar (25).

At the time, a foreign-made pistol, one magazine, two-round bullets, two cartridges, five bombs, two knives and a machete were recovered.

District media cell Officer-in-Charge Senior Assistant Police Super (ASP B-circle) Gaziur Rahman told banglanews that Kawsar was directly involved in shooting attack over a shia mosque Masjid-e-Al Mostafa at Haripur Bus-stand in Kichak Union of Shibganj Upazila of the district.

Earlier on November 26 in 2015, assailants open fired on devotees leaving one killed and four injured on the scene.
