DHAKA: Bangladesh National Awami Party (Bangladesh NAP) alleged the government is trying to repress all opposition parties in the name of crackdown against extremists and criminals.
Party’s chairman Jebel Rahman Ghani and secretary general M Golam Mostafa Bhuiyan issued a statement on Saturday (June 11) voicing their concern.
The statement said death toll in crossfire and gunfight has increased alarmingly since the inception of crackdown.
Mentioning that nine people have been killed in ‘gunfight’ in the last few days, Bangladesh NAP leaders said the crackdown is to snuff out the voices of opposition.
They also slammed the government saying it cannot bear opposing views.
