DHAKA: A city court took into cognizance the chargesheet against BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and seven others in a police murder case.

Metropolitan Magistrate Khorshed Alam accepted the chargesheet of the case filed with Ramna Thana for killing a police member by torching his vehicle on Sunday (June 12).

The magistrate issued an arrest warrant to a fugitive accused in the case.

Another chargesheed of the case under Explosive Act has been sent to Dhaka Metropolitan Session Judge Court for hearing.

Earlier in December, 2013, a police official was killed as the accused torched the police van in Banglamotor area during BNP-enforced countrywide indefinite strike and blockade.

However, Mirza Fakhrul was made “Hukumer Ashami” (plotter) in the case.
