BNP leader killed in Bogra

BOGRA: Police recovered BNP leader’s body left tied with a tree near Baghopara Eidgah of the district on Friday (July 8).

The deceased was identified as Nizam Uddin Paikar (55), vice-president of Gokul union ward-9 unit BNP.

Police said that Nizam went missing from Thursday night while returning home after shutting down his shop.

Later, police found the victim’s body tied with a tree and found stab injuries in his neck and chest. The body has been sent to Shahid Ziaur Rahman Medical College and Hospital morgue.

Sadar Thana police inspector (investigation) Aslam Ali confirmed the matter to banglanews and added that a few days earlier some unknown people threatened Nizam over cell phone.

However, police is trying to identify the culprits, he added.
