RAJSHAHI: Police arrested nine members of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Islami Chhartra Shibir among 42 people from several thanas of the district on Tuesday (July 12).

Rajshahi Metropolitan Police spokesperson and senior assistant commissioner of Rajpara Zone Ifte Khayer Alam said the law enforcers of four thanas and Detective Branch (DB) of Police jointly conducted the drives from 6:00pm Monday (July 11) to 6:00am Tuesday.

Boalia Thana police detained nine Jamaat-Shibir men from the area in a drive led by inspector (investigation) Mohammad Selim Badshah, he added.

According to him, the detainees were sent to jail through court.
