DHAKA: Supreme Court Appellate Division has upheld a High Court order that acquitted 11 accused in AL lawmaker Ahsanullah Master murder case.
A four-member full bench led by Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha passed the order on Sunday (July 17, 2016) settling the appeal of state.
On June 15, HC upheld the death penalty of six killers of popular labor leader and also former Gazipur lawmaker Ahsanullah Master.
The court upheld the death of BNP leader Nurul Islam Sarkar and five others for killing the AL leader.
Earlier on May 7 in 2004, a group of miscreants shot Ahsanullah Master to death in a mass rally at MA Majid Mia High School playground in Tangi upazila of Gazipur district.
