PABNA: A local leader of Swechhasebok League, front organization of ruling Awami League, was chopped to death by miscreants at his office in central bus terminal area of the Sadar upazila on Saturday night (July 23).

The deceased was identified as Amin Uddin, publicity secretary of Pabna municipality unit Swechhasebok League and son of one Babul Hossain, hailed from Doharpara of municipal area.

Confirming the matter, Pabna Sadar police station OC Abdullah Al Hasan said there was a longstanding clash between two groups over drugs trading in the bus terminal area.

Police suspected opposition men have killed Amin around 10:30pm, he added.

Police sent the body to Pabna General Hospital morgue for autopsy, he added.

OC Abdullah Al Hasan also said additional police have been deployed in the area.
