NOAKHALI: A union parishad level leader of Jubo League, a front organization of ruling Awami League, was shot to death by miscreants in COmpaniganj upazila of the district on Thursday night (August 5).

The deceased was identified as Abu Sufian, 37, hailed from ward no-3 of Charparbati union parishad and general secretary of the union Jubo League in the upazila.

Companiganj police station OC Syed M Fazle Rabbi confirmed the matter to banglanews.

He further said one Azad, a local miscreant, and his supporters shot Abu Sufian around 10:00pm and fled the scene, leaving him critically injured.

Local people rushed Sufian to Noakhali General Hospital where on-duty declared him dead on arrival, OC Syed M Fazle Rabbi added.
