DHAKA: BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said absence of democracy in the country is the main reason of terrorism and militancy.

He came up with the remarks while speaking at a commemoration program organized by National Democratic Party (NDP) at Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) in city on Friday.

Fakhrul said there is no way rather that BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s leadership to overcome the problems. The chairperson called for national unity from her core of heart but, unfortunately, Awami League (AL) always denied the urge.

National Democratic Party (NDP) leader Khandaker Golam Mortuza chaired the program where Daily Inqilab assistant editors Mobaidur Rahman, NPP president Dr Fariduzzaman Farhad, among others, were present.
