DHAKA: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) additional commissioner Monirul Islam said they would submit a proposal to home ministry recommending a ban on Ansar-Al-Ansar for its recent activities as an extremist outfit.

He made the comment while addressing a press briefing at DMP media center on Wednesday afternoon (August 24).

“We will submit a report to the home ministry requesting it to ban Ansar-Al-Ansar as the group was found involved with several sabotage activities,” he added.

He also said it is easier to control the activity of these militant groups if they are banned.
