KHULNA: Police arrested 45 people including five activists of Jamaat-e-Islami in a drive in several areas of the district.

The drive was conducted from Tuesday night (30 August) to early Wednesday (31 August).

Additional deputy assistant commissioner of Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) Sheikh Moniruzzaman Mithu confirmed the matter to Banglanews in the morning.

He said that the Jamaat leaders were arrested in accusation of creating sabotage during hartal.

Among the 45 detainees 40 were accused in several cases, he added.
