DHAKA: The ‘Swadhinata Padak’ given to late president and also BNP founder Ziaur Rahman was removed from National Museum in city on Wednesday afternoon (September 7).
A meeting between the ministry officials concerned and acting director of the museum was held regarding the removal of the crest and other accessories.
Earlier, the government decided to withdraw the award given to Ziaur Rahman as recognition of his role in the country’s war of independence.
The former president was honored with the award in 2003 by the then BNP-led alliance government.
